Pay Per Head News on West Virginia Online Gambling

Those who want to know how to start a sportsbook are always keeping track of developments of the gambling industry. Especially in big markets like North America. So far, there are now 5 states in the US that offer online gambling. The 5th state, is West Virginia. Governor Jim Justice has signed the West Virginia Lottery Interactive Wagering Act, or HB 2934. This bill was previously approved by the legislative chambers (house and senate) this month.

This bill will allow West Virginia’s land-based gaming license-holders to offer casino products, as well as online poker to their residents. The bill details the West Virginia Lottery’s need to finalize the regulations for online gambling by June 2020. The West Virginia Lottery is the oversight office of all gambling related activities in the state. Realistically, this means that locals who want to take part of online gambling will not be able to do this anytime soon. In fact, it may take up as long as early 2021 to actually start seeing operators offering online gambling services.

West Virginia joins other states such as Nevada, Delaware, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania in offering online gambling. Nevada is yet to put a law to allow online casino play. Likewise, Pennsylvania still has no current operations for online gambling. This is despite allowing online gambling in the state a year and a half ago.

The 5 states that allow online gambling also allow sports betting. Except for West Virginia, who has suspended their sports betting services for reasons not connected to legislation matters. The gambling industry in the US is worth $261 million. It also supports more than 1.8 million jobs within the country. Revenues are at $150 billion annually on the average. But predictions by experts say it could reach as high as $200 billion. And if you have a sportsbook pay per head provider, you can be part of the industry without having to invest hundreds of thousands of dollars.
