It is also the highest monthly handle the state has recorded since its launch. The state collected $1.195 million in taxes, 125% higher than its collection back in December 2020. Using sportsbook software is a popular option for many sports bettors, and Colorado is no different. 98% of the total handle for January comes from mobile and online sportsbooks. For January, bettors wagered on Pro basketball the most, with $88.4 million in bets. Next is pro football with $75 million in wagers. Rounding up the list is college basketball with $39.9 million worth of wagers.
