BetAmerica Enters the Michigan Sports Betting Market

BetAmerica Enters the Michigan Sports Betting Market as Part of their U.S. ExpansionSports Betting in Michigan became legal last year with the first legal bet taken in March of 2020.  However, the COVID-19 pandemic has kept sportsbooks from expanding into Michigan due to the temporary shutdown of gambling parlors. Today, BetAmerica Enters the Michigan Sports Betting Market because of a partnership with Hannahville Indian Community.

According to a press release by Churchill Downs Incorporated, they will be launching their BetAmerica sports betting Platform in Michigan.  Furthermore, their first sportsbook retail store will be at the Island Resort and Casino in Harris, Michigan.

In addition, they will also have an online bookie software and platform available throughout Michigan.  However, this last portion of their expansion in Michigan is pending upon approval of their gaming license. Thus, Kenneth Meshigaud, the HIC tribal chairperson is very happy with this new partnership.

Meshigaud said that the “BetAmerica sportsbook will expand upon our already compelling number of entertainment options”. Furthermore, this partnership will provide more reasons for bettor to visit their resort casino in Michigan.

In addition, the most important aspect of this partnership is the online sports betting application.  This is because since the coronavirus, sportsbooks know that an online presence is necessary for success.  Thus, they expect many sports bettors in Michigan to start online sports wagering using their mobile application.

For BetAmerica, this is just the next stepping stone in their quest to expand in the U.S, gambling market. At the moment, CDI is already present in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Indiana and Mississippi. According to sportsbook pay per head agents, this is only the beginning phase for CDI.  This is because they have several other sports betting markets they plan to enter before the end of the year.

For the state of Michigan, they are moving fast into expanding the number of sportsbook available within the state.  The last sportsbook to enter was DraftKings after they made a partnership with Bay Mills Resort and Casino last June.
