Women’s Soccer is First US Pro Sport to Return
The National Women’s Soccer League is the first US pro sport to return. However, most players are unconcerned about being the first on the field after a long time. They are happy to be playing again.
According to Lindsey Horan from the Portland Thorns, they missed playing hard-fought games and scoring a goal. They were sad when they can’t do that during the peak of the coronavirus pandemic. She added that playing is their life and passion. They are grateful to have the opportunity to play again.
The NWSL will start their season in a time when other pro leagues are weighing their options as coronavirus cases continue to increase in the US. Players and staff members are now quarantined in facilities used by the Utah Royals. Also, they will go through testing protocols and play games without fans.

The NWSL will play a World Cup-like tournament in Utah. Also, all eight teams will be part of the competition. However, Orlando Pride had to withdraw. The ninth team in the league has six players who tested positive for the coronavirus. As a result, the league had to reshuffle the schedule. Also, all eight teams qualify for the knockout stage, according to gambling software sources.
Three national players opted out of the NWSL tournament. They are Megan Rapinoe of the Reign, Tobin Heath of Portland, and Christen Press of Utah. According to a pay per head blog, the league allowed players to sit out the tournament without the risk of losing their salaries.
Lisa Baird, NWSL Commissioner, said that they made sure everyone knows the health and safety protocols. The league wants to mitigate risks and ensure they have the right plans for any situation.
You still have time to become a college bookie. The NWSL is just the first US sports league to come back. More leagues will return soon. That gives players more betting options and higher profits for sportsbooks.
