Online Sports Betting will soon be coming to Pennsylvania

Online Sports Betting will soon be coming to Pennsylvania After several months of waiting, Online Sports Betting will soon be coming to Pennsylvania.  According the latest gambling news, sports bettors will be able to bet online in only 2-3 weeks. Furthermore, Doug Harbach, the Pennsylvania Gaming Regulator’s spokesperson, said that online casino gambling will be available by July 15, 2019.

In terms of sports betting, at the moment only one sports betting operator at the moment is “in a position to offer testing” for their online sportsbook.  The question is whether they will be done with testing the sports betting software before the July 15.

At the moment, residents of Pennsylvania are still waiting on when they will be able to register to bet online.  Furthermore, the steps necessary and the qualifications necessary to bet online have not yet available. However, the PGCB said that they will release more details in the next few weeks.

Online Gambling in Pennsylvania

The Online Gambling expansion in Pennsylvania is a huge step for Pennsylvania and for the gambling industry as a whole. This is because the United States is behind Europe and needs a lot of work before it can catch up.  Thus, Pennsylvania making online sports betting available will help and even be a model for internet gambling in the U.S.

According to Harbach, at least three casinos will be testing their online casino software and website by mid-July as well. These are the operators that have chosen to pay the $10 million fee to offer online slots and table games.

Pennsylvania is expecting to receive a large boost in gambling revenue once online gambling goes live in the state. This is because they have seen the online gambling revenues in New Jersey where 80% of all bets are on the internet. Thus, when Pennsylvania gambling goes online, it will greatly increase their gambling market.
