The Sports Betting industry in the U.S. is getting bigger every month and Atlantic City is taking advantage of it. The latest news is that the Borgata Hotel Casino is building an $11 million Sports Betting Bar next week. Furthermore, Borgata is the first casino to offer sports betting in NJ and business is good if they are expanding.
According to Pay Per Head Bookies, Borgata has been running its sports betting operation from a temporary space. This was because of the need to have their sportsbook up and running as fast as possible. Now that its sports wagering operation has proven itself, they are in need of more space.
The construction of the new $11 million sport betting bar will start next week. Furthermore, Marcus Glover, the President and COO of Borgata said the new sports betting facilities will be done this summer. In addition, he expects the project to integrate smoothly with its casino to become a “destination bar”.
Atlantic City Sports Betting Expansion
Ever since the legalization of sports betting in New Jersey, several casinos have begun a sports betting operation. In addition, several casinos have also been or will be expanding their sports betting facilities and Borgata is the latest.
The Borgata is “proud to have been at the forefront of legalized sports betting in New Jersey” said Glover. Furthermore, he also looks forward to “advancing our product and innovative gaming and entertainment experience for our guests to enjoy”.
The Ocean Resort Casino also made an announcement last year about expanding its sports betting operation. This is because the sports betting industry in New Jersey is blowing up at an incredibly fast pace. According to the latest sports betting report, New Jersey took $928 million in bets from June of 2018 thru December.
In fact, several other casinos are planning on expanding their sportsbook operation. These include Bally’s Atlantic City, Tropicana Atlanta City and Harrah’s Resort.
