2017 NFL Week 1 Early Predictions

2017 NFL Week 1 Early Predictions

The 2017 NFL Preseason week 3 just wrapped up giving us a better impression of some of the starters and what they will bring to the regular NFL season.  In fact, rookie, Mitchell Trubsky of the Bears, impressed us last Sunday during the second half against the Titans when he completed 70.8% of his passes for 354 yards, three touchdowns and no picks.

2017 NFL Week 1 ScheduleHaving only another week left in the preseason has not stopped online sportsbooks from having early odds and based on these odds and how the teams have been doing so far, it’s enough to make some early 2017 NFL Week 1 predictions.

So let’s take advantage of these early odds and tell you how things will go down during that first NFL week!

Kansas City Chiefs vs. New England Patriots on Sept. 7, 2017 Prediction

Bad luck for the Chiefs having to play the defending Super Bowl champions right off the bat.  To add insult to injury, they will be playing on the Patriots’ home turf and the Patriots are expected to be even better than last year according to several sports betting software providers.

Football handicappers believe that the game will not be a shut out if the Chiefs can keep Brady contained while being able to score throughout the game.

The Chiefs will lose the game and with a current point spread at +7 it’s a good bet that the Chiefs will not cover.  Our prediction says to do the right thing and take the Patriots at -8

Atlanta Falcons vs. Chicago Bears on September 10, 2017 Prediction

Let’s face it, the Bears may be looking good at the moment but the Falcons are better.  Some NFL handicappers are predicting an easy win for Atlanta. In the last 9 games of the 2016 season, the Falcons scored 31 points or more.

On the other hand, the Bears had an awful defense during the 2016 season and even though we expect them to get at least 2 touchdowns for this matchup, they are simply outclassed.

The early odds on this game has the Falcons at a -7 favorite which makes a decision fairly easy to make, The Bears are not going to cover the spread so take the Falcons at -7.

Arizona Cardinals vs. Detroit Lions on September 10, 2017 Prediction

We thought we would add this matchup to the mix as most sportsbooks are not thinking much about this game.  Whatever happens, this will be a close match despite earlier predictions on this game.

Even though the Cardinals first game of the season will be on the road, we expect their superior defense to get them the win against the Lions.

The point spread at the moment is -1 for Detroit as a slight favorite to win against the Cardinals.  We expect the Cardinals to outright win this one so take them at +3 for some easy money.
